I wasn’t always a confident speaker. In fact, I still remember standing at the podium during a businesswomen’s speaking contest, clutching it like it might run away. I stumbled over my words, my stories didn’t connect—and I didn’t even place in the top five. A mentor later told me, “You had a death grip on the podium.” Ouch. It was all I could do not to cry in the car on the way home. But I made myself a promise that day: I was going to figure out how to speak with confidence, clarity, and purpose. I was going to master my message, and learn to tell stories that moved people. And I was going to help others do the same.
After years of presenting in corporate settings and leading workshops, I realized something: most professionals don’t need a crash course in public speaking—they need a mindset shift. They need to trust themselves, communicate with clarity, and feel like their voice matches their expertise.
I founded Business Speaking Solutions to help professionals do exactly that: refine their message, build lasting confidence, and engage their audience with impact. Whether you’re having a client meeting or presentation, leading a meeting, or sharing your story on stage, I’ll help you speak with real-world confidence—without trying to be someone you’re not.
You already know your stuff—you just need to trust yourself to say it
Great speaking isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being prepared
Anyone can become a compelling speaker with the right tools and mindset
My coaching isn’t about generic tips or polished performances—it’s about mindset-driven transformation, practical adaptability, and real-world readiness.
Together, we’ll work on:
Expanding the confidence you already have one-on-one to larger groups
Reframing self-doubt and silencing your inner critic
Preparing for the unexpected so you can stay calm, centered, and in control
Using storytelling to connect with and move your audience
I’ve spent over 30 years helping professionals grow—first in HR, then as a speaker, trainer, and now a presentation coach. I’m based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and work with clients both locally and across the country. I’ve led workshops for business leaders, authors, and non-profits. I’ve also written 3 books you can find Amazon links on my services page, and I blog weekly on all things public speaking, mindset, and communication. And yes—when I presented at an industry conference years after that first failed contest, people came up afterward to compliment not just my content, but my delivery. That’s when I knew: I’d truly found my voice. Now, I’m here to help you find yours.
